Long story short. Car was stolen at gunpoint while a friend and I were
leaving from his dorm in downtown Knoxville. The car was later found driving down 75S towards Chattanooga. A police chase was pursued but the suspect lost control of the car in the rain going 120mph. As of now my dads insurance company has claimed the car totaled.

I don't feel like reading it so it might say in there, but what happened to the thief? At 120 he must have been pretty messed up.

haha..not sure what the insurance is going to do. The guy at the yard was saying it is fixable. So I'm guessing the insurance will put it up on a salvage auction. If it goes for auction it will probably go for $13k or so. But not sure yet...hope it all gets figured out. I told my dad to get a 350Z..haha

dood, that's WAY more than $4000 in damage.
the front end sheet metal alone is $4000.. then there's another $4000 in interior damage from the airbags.. and another $3000 in suspension repairs. and another $1500 in replacement wheels. 3 are damaged, and they're about $500 a piece from the dealer.

they wouldn't total it for $4000 in work, but they will for $13000 in damage.

nonetheless, sorry to hear it happened. glad you're okay. I dunno if I could let them take my car without a fight. I've put too much work into that thing to let a scumbag like that take it from me...

.....this was waaaaaaay more than "lil over $4,000". My accident and damage is no where as bad as this and my estimate came to be at $8,700 and it was just the front left side that suffered the damage.

Hope you got that optional GAP insurance so you and pops can just dust your hands off and not pay a single dime whatsoever.

wow, that's bad news. glad no one innocent got hurt. hope you're not freakin out from the hold up.

and that is definitely totaled. Both bodysides, Rear Floor, Front Fenders, Hoodledges, Hood, Front and Rear Fascias, Impact Reinforcements, Wheels, Trunk, Air bags, etc. It's all busted. Remember it's a unit body and the entire car is twisted. It's easy to see from your pictures. You can't just put it on a rack and twist it back.

that must have been pretty scary, gettin robbed at gunpoint. really tho, glad you're ok. If you do get it repaired, i doubt it will be the same, so maybe if its financially reasonable, just start over again.

the cop said it was a .32 caliber.

We got the claim today. Came out pretty nicely. We got $28,255 from the insurance company today. My dad is happy with it. But I think for now he is going to just use his M45 and look around for something else. I told him to get a G35 Coupe...but i doubt he will.

And the maxima is now at a junk yard being put up for auction this week. It has a salvage title but they said it can be fixed.

I dont thnk you would want to drive the car again anyway, damaged goods.
It wouldnt drive the same and you would always remember it getting stolen and just bad memories.
I say look into a G35 coupe, they HOT.
