for anyone interested, i just got an email back from KYB and they are coming out with the Maxima application Summer 2001. thats not to far away, so i just might wait instead of getting Koni's.

correct me if i'm wrong, but the AGX are adjustable in both compression and rebound while Koni's are only adjustable for one of those conditions, right? i'm hoping that the AGX's will be bolt on and not an insert.

guess we'll just have to see.

summer!!!

Is there any way we can persuade them to release it earlier like December. Is the agx single or double adjustable? Dampening and/or rebound.

AGX

i'm actually kind of interested to see the pricing on these struts and shocks. i can get Koni's at my local shop for $489. if the AGX's end up being close to this price, i don't which one to get. they both seem like good brands, but maybe Koni's are built stronger and would last longer. i don't, what do you guys think..especially those already with the agx on their coilovers?

as far as the adjustablility i just read at lightningmotorsports that the adjustability changes the rebound and compression stroke. oh well either way this is great news for those with lowered Max's.

There is no proof that the Konis will last longer on the MAxima application. There is nothing to compare, so that statement I do'nt think would be true. I will almost bet anything that the KYB's will be a lot cheaper than the konis. For the CRX, they were $91 for the fronts and $88 for the rears. That's about $360 a set, the Konis were about $420 a set... KYB stuff have always been very affordable, I don't expect that to change.

BTW, I run AGXs on my CRX with 400lbs springs up front and 300 in the back. AFter a year of abuse, they are holding up very well.

Based on reputation->

I would have to say Koni's quality is higher. Just me 2 cents. Plus the Koni's are rebuildable while I don't think the KYB are. Just another twist on things.

The AGX's have a single **** that adjust both compression and rebound. I dunno what they'll get for the maxima, but it's either a 4 way adjustment at the top of the shock (can be adjusted through the shock tower) or an 8 way adjustment via a **** at the bottom of the shock (requires removing the wheel or some contortion to get under there and see).

I dunno what's the better shock, but talking with experienced folks at the autox events, they seem to like the KYB's better than the Konis. The general impression that I get is that performance wise, it's as good a shock for less money...

If you're wondering on pricing, it'll be around $100-120/each..

AGX pricing

Hey is it really bet $100-$120 each. That's the same price as the Koni's. It better be double adjustable (compression and rebound) for that price. Is it available in a different color? like blue. And are the springs from KYB too? What is the drop in inches and price.
