Custom Enterprise Y-pipe

While browsing Custom Enterprise's site I saw them make this claim for their 95-98 Y-pipe...

"When more horsepower is what you crave, we have just what you need. Custom Enterprise is proud to announce its new high performance y-pipe for 1995-1998 Maxima’s. Many months of research and design went into this final product ensuring the highest amount of horsepower gain possible. Constructed out of 100% stainless steel with precise mandrel bends and tig welding. The flex section on our y-pipe is what sets it apart from the competition. Most other y-pipes on the market save on cost by using a cheaper lower quality flex section, this results in an annoying “bee buzzing” sound under acceleration. We are sure you have heard one of your Maxima buddies complaining about this before. The Custom Enterprise y-pipe flex section was manufactured to ensure a smooth even flow with no “bee buzzing” sound."

Anyone use their product who can vouch for their claim?

Custommaxima.com: I don't see any mention of a guarantee on this claim. Do you guys have a "satisfaction guarantee or your money back" policy? You know, just in case?

Budget pipe and bees ->
CE pipe and no bees? ->

Lukes car sounds great.

the CM y looks to be a good design. $250 for SS is a good thing too.

WOW! Those both sound like crap. The CE is real guttural, sounds like someone choking on a chicken bone. The WS sounds real raspy. I have the Budget and it sounds 1000 times better. I guess I got lucky and made the right choice. And no I don't have any way of recording what it sounds like. These are just my opinions. Don't want to offend.

Greg had actually contacted me on having my car used to fit the y pipe he was creating. At the time he wanted to have Ractive make it (they have a shop near my house), but I was wary of having anything made by Ractive on my car and so I called it off. I am not sure if the final product is made by Ractive though. It looks like a nice piece but I am still going to go with Budget because they are local to me as well.

I did not see him stating a WSP was used? I though it was Stock vs CE.

"To compare (above), on the left is the CE product while showing the WarpSpeed on the right. As you can see the weaves are visually thicker on the pipe then that of the WS. To Compare (below), on the left CE product while showing the WS on the right, both show virtually identical welding techniques."

Also, if there are straight through mufflers used (I missed that) then any sound is coming from them to make it sound the way it does. I guess a real muffler will make both of them sound much better.

I believe the pipe was 2.25" inlet and flex was 2.5" but I would have to double check that with Greg.
