New Type of Wipers - on sale! Pepboys

I was in need of new wipers and did my research on them. I was about to get either Piaa refills or OEM ( Great quality ), but I recently came across a somewhat new type of wiper. Valeo Flat wipers - developed in France.

Read more here about Valeo: http://www.tirerack.com/accessories/valeo/ultimate.jsp

Anyways, I did my research and found out that Trico came out with a blade VERY VERY similar in technology, its called Trico Innovision Beam Blade

Rebate $10 per pair

I just installed and WOW, i like it alot. Pretty quiet, no streaking noise, my windshield is crystal clear. Now as of the longgevity, I just installed , so i dont know. But for $5 bucks a pop AFTER rebate ... i am a happy camper.

Anyways, make sure you bring a copy of the rebate, cuza at pepboys they rang up as $14.99, but the cashier overrode and discounted to $9.99.

I got 24" size, cuz they didnt have 26" in stock. But still works perfectly fine.

The Original Valeo Flat blade are $39 bucks each!!!!! so Trico Innovision Blade is a Freakin bargain... $5 each after rebate.

Other feedback welcome about either blade.

Got this a little over a week ago. The price should be $10 each w/ coupon but the girl at the counter didn't understand that part so I went to another Pep Boys where the girl knew how to override a price...

Working great in the rain

I'm a big fan of the silicone blades, they coat your windshield so it's like having rain x on it all the time. It works wonders in the rain because the droplets don't smudge on the windshield, just bead up. I'm using triple edges btw, they do wear out but the silicone coating makes up for it imo.

Looks like those would be great but i can't remember the last time i used my wipers
Tucson heat would make those look like 2 long sticks of beef jerky.

Bought them today. They look pretty cool and leave the window spotless. I like the way they look much more then PIAAs or Bosch (stock ones)

I don't know for sure, since no winter yet. But you could get a spray that melts down all that stuff.

I just used the coupon and bought these at pepboys. Thanks for the coupon, by the way mayne. I got the 9.99 per blade discount but didn't really bother w/ the 10 dollar rebate. But if u do, u can get these puppies for 5 bux a piece. Compared to the OEM wipers, the rubber blade looks of a higher quaility. I got the stock sizes, 22' for the passenger and 21' for the driver's side. But IMO, I think the new wipers look a little cheap and bulky. Moreover, I would probably advise that you go for the 24' wipers. But all in all, good buy.

Regular price is like $14 and $15 for the 21" and 22" and with the coupon they'll make it $9.99 each then there's a $10 rebate for the 2nd wiper (to make that one free) so you get both for $10 after the rebate comes.

Did you ask them or did you just check the wiper blade section? They don't keep them with the other blades at the Pep Boys around here.

No prob. At one of the Pep Boys, they had it in the front right when you walk in and the other store had it all the way in the back I guess they were too lazy to make room in the front of the store...

LOL...you were right...I went there again tonight - they were in the back next to the parts counter. It's a shame that I had to get them after all this rain passed...but they look cool - I just hope they perform well too.

BTW - thanks gxe2se for the coupon - worked wonderfully.

Sounds like it's way better than the OEM wipers. cuz my sucks. Let us know how the longeivity is when the next time you have to replace it. It sucks that they don't have a 26 or wasn't it a 28 for driver side on the 5th gen.

Drawback to using a 24" instead of a 26"?

I have a 2002 Maxima and need to get new wipers. The price for these is very appealing, but as you know they don't make them in a 26", the largest they make is a 24". My question is what would I notice using a 24" on the drivers side instead of the OEM 26"?

Thanks!

I still have my original OEM wipers on my 02 and they work as good as new. The car has almost 33k miles on it and I have used them quite a bit in the rain over the past 34 months.

well today i got to use these. hmm not sure what to say. it does completly wipe off all the water on the windshield with 1 pass but it spreads out the water on the windshield and that blocks ur view by a noticeable amount and then the water quickly dries off and disapears within 1 second, im not sure if this is the way its suppose to work or not. when the water is speard out, it looks exactly like fog but fog on the OUTSIDE of the windshield. but boy does the windshield look crystal clear and clean as hell once it wipes it off.

i just wiped the blades off with the alcohol provided hopin the fog effect would go away. we'll see what happens. but if the fog effect is gonna happen again, this thing is useless during heavy rain cuz ur constantly gonna have a "fog like looking" layer on the outside and its gonna block ur view !!

I bought some PIAA blade refills. Got them online at Autobarn.com. They were a bit pricey, at $20 shipped. Just got a chance to use them in rain/snow, and they worked great!
