Help installing fog lights
I am trying to install custom fog lights on a 95 and I am at a road block. Since I am not a DIY guy, i need some assistance. The picture of the wiring diagram and instructions provided with the fog lights is very vague and undetailed.. so this is where the confusion comes in. One of the wire connects to the positive (+) on the battery. Some of the other wires connect to grounding points on the chasis. Finally, one of the wires labeled (+) is supposed to connect to "battery terminal, Fuse box".... What does that mean, and where is that? What are other options for this wire (where else can I splice it into)?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Thanks in advance for any help.
that last positive wire connects to any positive wire. the reason they give you this option os so you can splice that wire in with the parking lights or headlights. So if they head lights are off, the foglights can not turn on. If you just conect it to the battery terminal, then you can turn your fogs on anytime, and leave them on without knowing it. (some of you out there know what I'm talkin about!) Most people would probably splice it in with the parking light. So the battery terminal is your constant power, the wire going to the parking light wire is the remote wire.
Okay, Spent all day wiring around the car... Turned on the switch, fog lights didnt come on.. Now again I am stuck. The switch light turns on, but the fog lights dont. All the wires are connected properly. Could this be due to grounding points?
without actually seeing the wiring, it would be hard to tell. Does your foglight system have a relay? In that case, turn the switch on with the hood up and your head poking out, and see if you can hear the relay clicking on and off. If you can't, you might have a bad relay or a blown fuse.
