I went back home to Tucson this past Easter weekend. I was out in the garage detailing the Max, when I see two yellow cars pull into the driveway! I was like, "Who the hell is that?" It turns out that these are two neighbors of mine who both recently turned 16. The kid with the IS300 got his car back a couple months ago, and the other guy just got the Type R from some chick in Phoenix the other day. He got hooked up, the car already had 17" Enkei Zo-Kus, Intake, Headers, full Exhaust, fog lights, HID bulbs, and a phatty system. The other kid is looking to get an exhaust for the IS, but might wait and trade in the car for the manual, when it comes out this fall.
So, my weekend was full of fun driving, pictures, and a little racing. The verdict: the Maxima is so much faster than the IS300, and even though I never went head to head with the Type R, the Maxima stands a very strong chance. The two of us pulled out of the gas station, with the Type R in front, he floored it and I followed right behind. My Maxima was keeping up with the car. I don't think it is all that of which it is hyped up to be. Now, what you all have been waiting for, the pictures.

You should beat your neighbor with the Integra Type R for 2 reasons.

1. Why did he put those ugly *** tail lights on that car. If I saw him, I would smack him with a snow shovel.
2. He's 16 and his parents(I'm guessing) bought him a Type R? WTF..

Exhaust on an IS300 is pointless, so is intake, it will loose power rather then gain it.

#1, The guy with the integra just bought the Type R like that, with the Altezza Style Lights, and he is supposed to be getting all the OEM parts soon.
#2, I dont think that the kid with the IS cares about power, he is after looks.

not one aftermarket intake or exhaust has proven any gain over stock as of yet, most people report loss of power when adding these mods

Sweet pics. I'm going to get pictures of my uncles 400 HP Talon, my brothers Eclipse, my cousins lowered Si, my father's Galant VR-4 and my Maxima one of these days. Too bad my grandmother is in Arizona, I would have gotten a picture of the Boxster too. Best thing is that my brother and cousin keep saying that they could take me, my put them back in their places after an impromptu race. ALL HAIL VQ!!!

My brother does installs like this on the IS300 all the time, nobody claims any gains, plus go to some fo the is300 pages, most report a loss of power until about 120 130 mph
this car is tuned, to get power you have to get teh reprogrammed ecu

and as far as the ECU working...yes it does, his own IS has the lastest computer download and it pulls more then ever

1. His car came liek that
2. When I was 14 my dad bought me my motorcycle, and when I turn 16 hes gonna give the maxima in my siggy to me. I don't see nothing wrong with getting nice cars at a young age, maybe his parents are rich

Yeah, both of there parents are rich, plus I am live in a pretty upscale hood. The Type R parents have a 99 911, Benz, 4Runner, and his brother has a Camaro. The kid with the IS; his parents have a 99 LS 400 and a 98 GS400, they are trading the GS in for the SC430 really soon. I guess they like Lexus.
I love your bike VQracer: I am trying to convince my parents into getting me a YZF R6. My buddy just got a 97 CBR F3 and I rode it....best feeling in the world!

If my parents would buy cars like those for me, I wouldn't complain. I don't feel too bad though, not like the Maxima is a bad car. We are pretty lucky ourselves whether you realize it or not to have a Maxima.

If the Type R will get rid of the ugly Altezza tail lights, then his car will look tight. Btw, those ITRs are fast, I think he can beat you handily. You'll have better luck against the IS300.

if your friend in the IS is after looks I think he bought it in the wrong color...IMHO the IS yellow is the worst color out of all of the colors for the IS...looks like a butter yellow

hey, i've got the knockoff of the ITR's rims!

haha, I think mine look just as good and I bet I paid a hell of a lot less. And is anyone else totally NOT impressed by the looks of the ITR's engine? For some reason it just looks cheasy, I thought it would be all decked out or soemthing for being the flagship honda motor.
