Auto tranny normal temp?

Are you running a tranny temp gauge? Does your fluid smell burnt or is it discolored in any way? What makes you think your tranny is running hot? It shouldn't overheat unless your towing something heavy on mountain roads or really beating on your car when you drive it. If you would like more protection try a synthetic transmission fluid such as Amsoil. Amsoil claims that their synthetic fluid helps keep temps down by reducing friction. Most on here would agree that their auto trannys run better when switched over to synthetic fluid. Mine sure does!
Thanks, this is just because I have a torque converter and valvebody which tend to produce more heat. I ran two coolers and now i took one out. I noticed that I hit 180 the other day while spirted driving and wondered if it was too high. I never hit 180 before
can you link me please, ive been dying to see one, does the sight have any info on how well it works, ive seen some tq converters that make an auto tranny put harder shifts and more hp to the ground then manuals

do you understand the concept of higher stall TC? no company will make a claim on your HP level/gains because that really can't be established until it's on the car.

it puts you in your powerband sooner than later...but power loss on an auto is always there.
hahah good thing I met this guy here in China, hes gonna help me build my car when I get back, he builds hot rods, and he knows a **** load, im like mooching his knowledge slowly, Im planning on doing a weird *** swap when I get back, ill keep you posted, o yeh our axels are hollow right?

lol, well im in china right now, ive been here for 4 months, and I met another guy here that builds custom hot rods for a living, i told him about my car, and how I tune it, but when I get back him his brother and me are gonna work on my car with a special little somn, I was asking if nissan maxima transaxels are hollow

He also built a G35 torque converter and it turned out great. They say they are one of, or THE oldest torque converter performance shop in the nation. So usually, the older the place is, the bigger their database is and the better they can build you a torque converter to suit your needs.
About my tranny temps, in 110 degrees in Las Vegas, I would see 180 at the MOST with my AC blasting. I read somewhere that normal dino tranny fluid starts to break down at 180. But it's not crutial until you see something over 200 degrees. My normal operating temp in Las Vegas extreme (110-115 degrees) weather is 140-170. I have a tranny cooler.
When I added "Trans Cool" made by Pro Blend 40 below (Pep Boys and Advanced Auto parts carries it), my tranny temps dropped more than 25 degrees!!! So now, I haven't seen anything above 150 in a long time! Anything below 125, I think, is getting on the cool side.

What are you able to stall to if you hold the brake and press the gas? Does it over power the brakes? If so, that is not going to be a good measurement. Aaron, 3100 brake stall is what i can get up to.
I have found by asking nissan techs that if the tranny is too cool it will put stronger strain on the gears. as of now, I have not been able ot find out what the best operating temp from nissan
