You've been here long enough to know the answers to those questions. Do me a favor and search and read the stickies/FAQ's.

In short it's very possible to do w/o removing the IM, and took me 15 mintutes, I was lucky, and it is ok to drive w/ a bad sensor, as the timing is pulled back (retarded) and will not cause any damage other than bad gas mileage and poor performance.

Yes it is very easy to do without taking off the IM. I just did it 2 days ago. All you need is 12mm Swivel, ratchet, and an extension. Takes about 10-15min to do the job. Also find someone that has small enough hands to fit in there or your hands if small enough. I couldn't even get half of my hand in there. If you wanted, you could use wd-40 or pb and soak the bolt beforehand as well.

You don't need small hands to do it. As a matter of fact, you don't need to stick your hand down there at all if you know how to do it right.
