Adding color to stock H3 bulbs
I was wondering if I can spray paint my stock H3 fog bulb with a yellow tint so that it can have a yellow/gold output.
Am I better off spending $20+ on a set of yellow H3 bulbs?
I have three set of standard H3 bulbs and want to use a set to try it out.
Does this sound ??

I bought a set of Hella H3 yellow star 85 watt bulbs and they aren't "yellow" enough for my tastes in the clear stock housing.
They have a slight yellow tone to them, but I have an Infiniti QX4 and I was hoping for something closer to the stock fogs on that. The Q has yellow round projector-type lenses with a white H3 bulb and it is far more yellow. I get lots of compliments on the stock fogs, too.
I think if you want a really "yellow" look, you should buy yellow lenses or paint your clear lenses yellow. I think colors on the bulb itself are diffused too much by the direct light. Notice how "blue" bulbs just look extra white? I think the same thing happens with the yellow. I guess if you spray a thick enough coating on it, it might look yellow, but your light output would probably suffer.

thanx for the input...
I do not want to modify the lenses. However, I am willing to modify a set of stock H3 by spraying a yellow tint.
Has anyone try tinting H3 bulbs? Is there such tint that'll stay on considering the bulb's rise in temp when it's turned on?
Does it really lose light output?
Where can I buy a set of yellow H3 bulbs (55W) for cheap? Does SUVLIGHTS.COM offer the cheapest price on the Narva Gold?

you could possibly get some yellow bulbs, and i was looking into lamin-x film, which acts as protection for your lens, but you can get them in tinted colors (yellow being one). the combination of the yellow bulb and yellow film will probably make it yellow enough
