bpi vs brembo rotors??

i'm looking at ebay for some rotors. I see a couple of em have free shipping.

drilled/slotted fronts/rears for 240 shipped - BREMBO

drilled slotted fronts/rears for 209 shipped - BPi Brakes

I was goin to get the brembo but the auction ended too early this morning... i hope it comes back up in the next 2 days cuz ill just get those.

I already bought OEM pads all around from jrnissanparts.com and now all that's left is the rotors... anyone have any experience with both brands? My braking style is that of a commuter.. no autox or track. What do you guys suggest between the two brands? Any experience?

My current rotors have been squeeling for the past 3 years and I think the front two are warped. I have alot of miles on em too. How long are rotor life anyways?

anywho thanks a bunch.

I think squealing is more likely the pads. If they're warped you'll feel pulsating in the pedal when you brake. You may be just as happy with blanks. There seem to be lots of people on both sides of the argument on that one. I think I'll just go with blanks when I do my brakes.

well, the price is not really buggin me.... just how long they will last.

as for the squeeling, you may be right about the pads. The ones I had were OEM and i couldn't get why they would squeel.. when i first took a look, they didn't have any shims so i figured there was my problem... i put shims on and they still squeeled!

anyways, with new pads and new rotors, i just want squeeling to go away!

weird.. I bought my pads from autozone (the 9.99 ones) I was poor at the time, and they squeecqued until 3 days ago, whenI finaly put the break kit on and they haven't maske a single sound ever since.
so i don't think that pads do much, as long as you have a brand new nreak kit, and good condition rotors

I think not breaking them in properly can cause squealing. Contrary to what you might think brakes should be broken in hard rather than going easy on them. http://www.zeckhausen.com/bedding_in_brakes.htm.

Other than the cost, people say drilled rotors sometimes crack, don't brake any better (at least not that you'd notice on the street), eat through pads, and make more noise (I think more of just a rubbing noise, not a squeak...but I'm not sure). There are of course many people who disagree with all this. They do look cool though. Here's what maxmods has to say about rotors. http://maxmods.dyndns.org/index.php?MaximaBrakeRotors.

Have fun bedding in those brakes. Looks like that'll be the fun part .

here's how one of my front rotors look like this morning... i can see all these grooves, and i think they are warped but can't tell visually:

hmm.. looks like ther's a good amount of pads left on the rear, right?

You can get them for $190 (or $160 for blanks) plus shipping and they're zinc plated so the ugly rust in the middle ( and on in the slots and holes for drilled) won't be there. Automax just replied to a post I made yesterday asking if it was still going and he says it ends December 4th.
