I want to get these rotors but are they really better than just slotted rotors? This is my daily driver and I might change the pads also. I really like the look of these rotors so if anyone has them or has comments about them please let me know. Thanks.

rotors

my friend owns a parts business and i wanted to get X-drilled and slotted rotors from him... he refused to sell them to me. he said he has seen too many x-drilled and slotted rotors crack. i ended up going with just slotted. you should get new pads when replacing rotors, at least thats my feeling on it. anyone else?

I was admiring my friends wheel's this weekend when, Doh! Dude, your Brembo's are cracked at the upper holes. Let's check the other side. Doh! Same thing. I'm upgrading my brakes soon, with slotted rotors. Maybe if you can find a company that doesn't drill the hole's so close to the end of the rotor, you would be less likely to crack, but those are like, a 1/4-1/2 inch away and they cracked. Just going by what I saw. Good luck.

This might change you mind, the brembo big brake upgrade cost between $1700-2400, depending if you get the 4 pistono 6 piston calipers .On the upside these brakes are designed for races like the 24 hour of lemans and brake fade will become a thing of the past, the quility of these brakes is awesome and you should never have any problems with them unless you do not brake them in properly. I personaly think this mod is for cars that are involved
in race events{not street racing} and is not needed for the every day comuter. I have thought about getting them but not until I finish every other project on my menu, another words it is last on my list because I have no real need for them now, but they would be nice!

I havent had any probs with my X drilled rotors. I got them at the last Stillen open house or Maxima day. One of those days but there were in March or May. I say you change your pads cause you need new pads with new rotors. Why, no clue but thats what you should do. I got the Stillen Matrix pads all the way around untill about 3 months ago about my front pads were gone and then i went with porterfields. For some reason they squick a bit after they get hot. This has been happening for about 1/2 a week. I dont know, I might go with just slotted rotors next time or slotted and cross drilled. What I really want is a Brembo Kit but too much $$$. Rather spend that on sumtin else. Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks guys. The Brembo rotors I was looking at were on EBay for a very reasonable price. They are new and the seller has a very good rating so I was really considering this purchase. But like most of our mods, I don't really need them. It wasn't the complete brake upgrade, just the rotors. So if I do get them I'll get the new pads as well. Humm...decisions decisions. Thanks again.

note that Brembo does not make stock size xdrilled and/or slotted rotors. Independent companies take Brembo blanks and do their own CNC machining. You'll get a Brembo box but the drilling wasn't done by Brembo themself.

i got the stillen slotted rotors and i have to say that they work much better than the stock rotors. i had a hard time deciding between the slotted and the x-drilled, but in the end, i went with slotted, so i wouldnt have to worry about cracking.

just my two cents....

well from my experience

My rotors were warped, they were the originals, so i gota set of those brembo slotted/cross drilled rotors off ebay at $115 shipped, damn good price i think, they work great, new pads are a must so i ordered stillen metal master pads and ss lines from avalon racing, total cost was about $300. Braking feels a lot firmer but sometimes i feel like i have a sudden brake loss cause u gotta warm them up, good luck on ur search, i was very pleased with my purchase, that and they look damn good behind my rims.
