everything sounds okay with the bose, but nothing sounds as good as crankin 80's hair bands. sounds good, doesnt need a lot of bass.

prime example....Journey!!

I voted for hip hop only cause the subs hit harder and more noticable when I have a hip hop song on... I still have plenty of tweaking to do to get them to better overall quality.

I need to install the bigger amp for my sub, so right now it's underpowered. Due to that, rock sounds best at the moment. Not as dependant on the "big bass" sound.

Rock always sounds the best. The blend of tones is easier for speakers to reproduce the frequencies. Since most isn't synthetically produced it doesn't take much power to duplicate.

But for deep bass there is no question that Lil' Jon is reigning supreme at the moment. They tune that **** to sound best on your average automotive system on purpose. Almost everyone that buys that CD turns it on when they are trying to show off in their car. The only practical use for that CD is to disturb bowels. It is an amazing feeling though.

I'll just list a few bands that sound really good through my audio system in my car:

Radiohead, Linkin Park, Ben Folds Five, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Dave Matthews Band, Incubus, Keith Urban...and the list goes on.

Pretty much anything that is a high quality recording and can be cranked. My system has really good SQ so the list is quite long.

SQ Rules....

Most cd's, even if they are good, I won't like unless they have very good sound quality.

Some mellow rock, some techno, and my test discs sound alright but, then again I'm pretty picky when it comes to music on my system.
