Clutch issue, maybe pressure plate? HELP!!

Ok Guys, this is long but please read.

Tranny was replaced back in october last year. went from ACT to Exedy stage one clutch. AAMCO f**ked up my tranny and it went back 6 months later to get re-done. Clutch looked ok so they put it back in. Now ever since the first time it was done every once in a while it would act weird, like in the morning it would not dis-engage from gear even though it was in neutral. once they re-did the Main Bearing again this went away, however every now and then It wouldnt want to go into gear. I would pump the clutch pedal for a few and it would go in. This got worse and worse and started doing it 2 or 3 times a day and then even more. It would even do it at 75 on the highway. I have slipped the clutch once on a hard launch, but on the norm it doesnt slip. Last Friday It was acting up all day, just did not want to go into gear when engine was running, the all of a sudden it would work fine for a while, then act up again, I would start the car in first with foot on clutch and it would roll, like clutch not fully engaging. Friday night I got into the car, started it up, steped on the clutch and I was hearing a weird noise. It sounded like hydrolic fluid sounds on a power steering pump thats low. I let off clutch and it went away. its only there when pedal is down, and pedal feels fine other than that. I am dredding a clutch job only due to holidays and money issues. Anyone have any ideas? I was thinking pressure plate or maybe throw out bearing?????

Please help... Thanks

Sounds very similar to a problem I had way back. In cold temperature one of the rivets on the pressure plate broke-off and the body of the rivet lodged between fingers of the clutch spring. Had this won't release to won't engage/slip problem. Rebuilt unit is much stronger than OEM, because they use bigger rivets! Of course on RWD it's a lot easier fix.

regards
bob

TO bearing. Same thing happens on my friends Exedy stage 1 clutch. His TO broke and did the exact same things. I know of a few people with Exedy clutches that have had these problems.

If its the TO, then you will need to replace it.

I think TO, but you wont know for sure until you take the tranny off. But you might have a diff problem, like air in your lines.
