Drivers side door lock is getting sticky/difficult to turn- how to diagnose problem?

The door lock on the drivers side of my car has been getting more and more difficult to turn and unlock the car. Sometimes I have to turn it to the left, and then turn to the right to unlock it. I should be having my alarm reinstalled soon, but I would still like to know what could be causing this, and if it's gonna get worse. Any ideas guys?

Try some Remington gun oil in the spray can. It is a thin oil with teflon in it. Worked on my 3rd gen car that sounded like the identical problem. It only takes a little.
