Great site everyone. I'm looking at a '90 Maxima with very low kms. Is there any way to tell if the odometer has been spun back? Thanks

 

The first number, most likely a zero, would have a vertical line on it. Looks like a scratch going from top to bottom.

 

carfax can help as well

 

Yeah but why waste money on carfax when it's out of date 90% of the time.

 

helped me not buy a car with turned back mileage...was worth the 25 bucks for an unlimited month IMO

 

Too bad most ppl dont know about this, either that or just lack of common sense. Edmunds will also give info on the cars history. I found a truck that was rolled back over 150k miles from carfax, what a nice find indeed

 

I think the car had 60k on it but obviously had 160k on it
