you can buy the recharge kit for ~ $15 at Pepboys. Or, just buy the oil and use carwash soap to rinse it out. Make sure you let it dry before you reoil it; and don't use TOO much oil.

K&N's website has recommended clean intervals. I think the K&N is only supposed to be cleaned like 25 times(please check the site to confirm that #) But even at 25 times, if you clean it every 10k, that's 250k miles so no problem.

If you have a cone that's inside the engine bay, then once a year is more than fine. If you have a CAI, I would clean it more often. From what I see, that thing gets very dirty down there.

And, unless you know exactly what the K&N cleaner is, don't use substitutes. The cotton gauze can be damaged by solvents that are too harsh. The kit is cheap and it lasts for a long time. Just by the kit.

yea...just buy the little filter kit from like local performance shop or autozone...it's pretty cheap there

yeah...i do my CAI every 6 months...it doesn't get as dirty as some other filters ive seen at meets but who knows how long it's been since they were cleaned
