PICS- Gunmetal dash kit, custom gauge housing, door sills, etc....

I'll try and post this again....

Well, I finally got most of the interior done, and I'm loving it. I got the gunmetal dash kit and door inserts from Southwest Autoworks, and the door sills from an Infiniti dealership. The custom gauge housing was done by Jason (Tapout) and it is amazing. It has the Autometer nitrous pressure gauge and A/F gauge, along with the bottle heater and nitrous activation switches. The only pieces my interior is missing are the leather center console cover and a few 'custom' gunmetal pieces. Well here are some pics.....more on page 4 of my homepage...

I just wanted to post pics to show off Jason's work. He put a lot of effort into my car, and I think the results are perfect. As far as I know, I am one of the only people with a gunmetal colored dash kit, and I think it compliments the rest of the car better than regular silver would have. What do you guys think of all of it?

Well, since the AC vents on the I30 are different than the Maxima, no company makes dash pieces to cover them. It doesn't bother me though.
I could have installed the gunmetal gauge bezel around the gauges, but I didn't feel it was necessary since I already had the rings.
Thanks for the compliments guys...

LCD would look better than the guages IMO. I'm not feeling the orange shift light(is that what it is?).
Other than that, I do like the dash kit w/the pedals and black interior.

BTW, do you have gray leather?

Yeah, LCD would be awesome, but I got these gauges as part of a good deal, so I decided to use them. Yeah, it's a shift light, which was also included in the large kit I bought. It comes in handy, especially with the nitrous. Yes, I have gray leather. I don't think it's factory, but I don't think it's real aftermarket. I think it might have been a dealer add-on. The pedals are AE pedals with a 350Z deadpedal.

Well we (Paul and I) got the platinum plugs in there, and we figured out the MEVI wasn't opening either. Thankfully we just needed to switch up some vacuum lines, and it's working great now, and I can tell it's working. I can even hear it open up. We also figured out that the Summit was opening it up at like 4800, even though it was set at 5200. We tinkered with the screw adjustment in the Summit, and got it close enough to 5200. Paul also wired up the Security light to light up when the Summit/MEVI open at 5200. It's pretty cool looking, and you can't even tell that it's no longer the security light. I'm damn satisfied.

Until we realized that my clutch isn't holding the 65 shot for ****. If I gun it in 2nd with the nitrous, it takes a second for it to catch, then it goes like hell. I just hope I can get a few track runs in before this clutch dies.

Anyways, the car is feeling great right now, and I'm loving it.

you should have asked Alex to make a a dash trim piece that includes the new gauges you had installed along with the radio as well. Sadler has something like that on his max and it looked that much better all on one dash kit piece.

Otherwise me likey alot!

Nick, how hard was it to mount your cd player there? i'm thinking about stealing a little bit of your style when I add some accessories to my nitrous kit.

Well, Jason did that, but I'm pretty sure it was no different than putting one in the stock location, although I can't be positive. Maybe he will chime in...I see you are going the n2o route as well, what are your plans?

bottle heater, remote bottle opener, purge kit, a couple of gauges and I plan on spraying 125 wet shot or better.
