wouldn't you have to be going as fast as the rotation of the earth(very fast)? I don't think it would be possible....

What are you guys using...

Hey, what program are you using to view that *.mov file?? I can't get real player or Windows media player to recognize the thing...

I've got them both looking for "upgrades" ove the net right now as I type this so hopefully that will solve the problem.
The computer is 1 week new, so it ****es me off that I have to look for something like this.

Ok, assuming the earth is about 25000 miles around the equator, and assuming you tried that some where in the American Southwest. That would put you at about 40 degrees north lattitude. 25000 X Cos40 = approx 19150 miles around the earth.

The earth rotates once every 24 hours so at 40 degrees latitude the surface of the earth is spinning 19150 / 24 = 798 MPH. You would have to maintain an average speed of 798 MPH just to keep up with the sunset.

So you can imagine the acceleration needed to catch up to it from a standing start.

Mmmm...VQ POWER!

Yeah, I can just see someone talking to Nissan tech. I was running 2000 pounds of boost so I could do like in the commercial. When I hit the gas, 'Pooooofff!!' I don't know what happened.

798 MPH? That's easy to do in my Max. I have a 5speed with CAI and a Y-Pipe. I'm waiting for my ECU upgrade, with that I'll be able to go more than 825.

No, that was cancelled, and all the parts from that project were put into the GLE-R. Your little GXE couldn't handle it.

That has got to be the coolest car commercial that I have ever seen. That song in the beginning is so relaxing getting you into the perfect mood before blasting off down the runway towards the heavens. This video is definetely a keeper. It shows you how to MAXIMIZE the possibilities...

Check out the other 2 commercials

There are 2 more commercials at this site. One is a little different version of the one we're viewing now, and better in my opinion! The other commercial is totally different; shows some of the manufacturing process of the Maxima.

I hope you have a high speed connection! I downloaded and saved all 3.

Ok, how did we get into that site? I wanted to see what else was on it and it said that you have to be a dealer or somehow related to the Nissan corperation to get in and you need a login and password. . .

Adidas_boy, if you start playing the commercial, then go to the url and change it to just www.nissanartwork.com, it will dump you into the general directory, where you can see other stuff. However, there isn't too much on the site.

Re: What are you guys using...

The reason you have to download the upgrades it because of the fact your computer is new..... The versions of media player that comes preinstalled does not have the latest codecs (updated weekly-monthly almost), and the version of real player which gets installed is not the full one so you have to download some of the additional options, which is actually better because if they all installed at the beginning it would waste a lot of space.

Your computer may be new, but it was probably on a shelf for a month, in a truck for a week, in a warehouse for a month, and the latest up to date software was installed around valetine's day, if not earlier =).

Glad someone else worked out the math on this one before I had a chance to think about it too much. I had way too tough of a week at work to actually do any math on the weekend...

Hmm.

When i watch the sun set its not setting that fast. So if the sun was right in my eyes, on a straight road, it would be there for a while. It takes a while for the sun to set, you know? It doesnt just drop in half a second...
