I used to think that too, but then my friend videotaped a sunset in california, it seriously is gone in a matter of 5 seconds; it's the neatest thing to see if you've just been seeing boring sunsets in the midwest your whole life (like me) which do take hours it seems...... I've actually never seen a sunset like that in person, only on videotape, but the sun does actually set like that if your in the right place...

Yeah, the sunset does set like that in some areas of the nation. . . At least I know I have seen it set close to that fast. I think it all depends on the season and and where you are in the world.
