Cleaning K&N tommorow...please help
#2
Don't plan on driving your car for at least 8 hours.. Its going to take that long for the filter to dry naturally. Cleaning that thing is a pain in the ***.. So set some time aside. And when you reoil.. Don't go too nuts.. The oil spreads on its own.. Its better to under-oil it.. And then go back to pick up spots you missed.. Than to over oil it and end up blotting the filter for hours like I did the first time I cleaned it.

#1 is DON'T OVEROIL!!
I overoiled my first time and noticed my gas mileage really dipped so I went back to the factory filter. One day I decided to take the K&N out of the closet, clean it and give it another chance. When I went light on the oil, it worked fine. I also only oil the side that faces up (the opposite side from which you flush and also the side that traps the dirt). Good luck.

Re: If you have an air compressor use it to blow it dry.
I am gonna clean it tommorow, I dont have a air compressor, but i was planning on using one of those can dusters from office depot (which is just compressed air) to help clean it... i figured that will work well.

Hey Caroline....
I put "OOPS" next to my post a few up because the k@n site said using a compressor can damage it....I would think you'll be OK with a can duster tho..not much pressure.
