basically what mzmtg said, good thing is the vq with all that horsepower, but the damn car is fugly! you're better off gettin an 02/03 if you like the 3.5 or 00/01 if you like the 3.0 and spend the rest of your $ on mods. i think the best lookin max's are the 5th gens and 4th gens - good luck though its all about what you like and want!

I would also check in the 6th gen forum for input. I worked for a Nissan dealership for awhile and I know at least with the first batch of 6th gens there where a lot of build quality issues.

I had this problem a few months back and had a hard time not buying one. I chose a 5.5th gen over the 6th gen but ONLY because I got the exact car I wanted. Yes, the 6th gen does take some getting used to so far as the body goes but you don't have to look at it sitting behind the wheel.

Pros are the HP (obviously), the overall reliability, the rarity (since not a lot of people have them), and the fact that its going to be the "current" body style for a few more years. There are other pros to be sure.

Cons would be the steering wheel shimmy that some people have, the size increase over previous gens if you're concerned, the rarity (for parts anywhere but the dealership if you plan on fixing it yourself in years to come or for other "performance components"), and the price vs. many other near-lux cars since its still a "Nissan." Yes, there are other cons, as well.

By the way, what are you comparing the 6th gen to? That may help in the pro vs con chart you're after.
