DIY for the cost of a spring compressor... if not, it shouldn't be more than 120-200 bucks...

Or rent it from AutoZone for a refundable $40.

if you were around me, i would help you out, i have done at least 5 other members cars. but to pay for it, i guess is about $200 dollars, but not worth it, do it yourself.

I did it myself the first time and it took me about 4 hours. Make sure you have a good set of spring compressors and be careful. I try to have two sets on hand, it makes it easier on the front springs or if one binds up. Now it takes me about 2 hours to do a set.

Seriously, check out one of the online writeups and set aside a Saturday. Anybody with average mechanical skills can do it with basic hand tools (plus the compressors, which you can rent at Autozone for free with a 40$ deposit). You can do it in your driveway. It would make it easier and faster if you have a friend who can help with taking out the next strut while you work on replacing one spring at a time.

Remember that no mechanic in the world cares for your car like you do. And if you do it yourself, it will really give you alot of confidence to tackle other jobs. I was a bit apprehensive when I first started, but now I pretty much know my car inside and out.

After it's done, drive your car straight to a shop that will do an alignment. Call ahead just to be sure that they will align a car with aftermarket springs. Alot of shops really suck and cant do it.

Do some research here for struts/springs combos (unless ya want coilovers):

http://www.innerbean.com/housecor/sp..._decision.html

And also read some of the threads in the 5th Gen forums... might give ya an idea...

http://forums.maxima.org/forumdisplay.php?f=10

As for where to go, I still say DIY or get some .Orgers to help ya... maybe post in the regional forums for some recommendations?
