Different model names of maximas
Hey! Ok this is probally listed somwhere and its such a noob question but I am going to ask anyways.
What does GXE, GLE, and SL stand for? I know the SE stands for Sports edition. If someone can help with this I will really apreciate it. Also which do you think is a better model? Thanks

Some New Zealand Maxima Abbrevations I dug up.
03 Nissan Maxima ST
97 Nissan Maxima SL
01 Nissan Maxima IS
00 Nissan Maxima TI
91 Nissan Maxima SV
97 Nissan Maxima SMX
04 Nissan Maxima SS-T
explanations by a group of NZ maxima drivers:
-- 91/92 J30 gen3 Maximas were badged as follows: base model "3.0i", next up was "3.0i Silhouette" which was semi sporty, next was "3.0i SE", and top of the range "3.0i SEL"
-- 93/94 J30 were badged: base model "3.0i S", next up "3.0i SL", next "3.0i SE" and again top of range was "3.0i SEL"
-- A33 gen 5 were badged as base model "Si" next up "ST" and top of range was "Ti". Some were available as a sporty version and called "SSi", "SST" and "STi"
-- The J31 has a few more then the A33, add an S- to the front of each of those for the sports versions, and there's also now two limited edition models that do without the wood trim.
-- SMX MAXIMA ( NZ Specific)
*120 Made
* 30 of those were manual
Rare Steve Millen Maxima, build number 0 of 120 made, only 30 manuals built. Full body kit, alloy wheels, big bore exhaust, strut brace.

Very interesting letters badging in New Zealand. GXE would probably be Grand Deluxe?? then the SE of course Sport Edition which was the top line when it used from 85-94. Then 95 added the GLE bumped the SE to the middle. Now here's the 6th gen choose from SE or SL.
