$15 or so is the price from advance auto parts and from Nissan it's $38. Assuming both come with the same bits, the only diff is rubber quality, but is it really that different between the two?

OEM parts are more expensive, as a rule. $38 for a boot sounds a lot, so call Dave B the parts guy, see what kind of price he can give you.

Make sure the boot from Advance Auto Parts isn't a split boot type replacement.

A split boot type replacement boot goes on without having to disconnect the axle from the hub. They also don't last very long and tend to leak.

I didn't know about them. Are there any good ones? I have to say it would make the job FAR FREAKING faster and easier (and cheaper because no alignment) if I could take a blade to the existing boot and throw a split boot back on top!

Ah I found something on raxles.com They don't like them, but then they sell axles of course I think they are crappier though. I wonder how long they last...

EDIT: OK everyone everywhere says they suck. They've gotten better but are no good.
