what rpm does the 2nd outlet open up at? I installed a 2k maxima muffler on my 98 Altima and im not sure if it is working properly. BTW the hangers fit perfect on the 98 Altima and the muffler is about 2 inches longer. I was suprised they were the same.

How much did you get the 2K Maxima muffler for?

I got it for free from a friend.

 

How are you testing it? Inside of the
muffler should be a valve that senses
exhaust pressure. On a Max, the valve
should open between 2k-2.4k RPM. You
have to add load to your car. If you
simply try to rev the engine while parked,
you won't generate enough exhaust pressure
no matter what RPM you're at.

 

that makes sense. that was my second guess but wasn't sure. I was testing in park and it would open up near redline. Thanks albert.
