Which parts (in general) are more expensive, 1995/96 Honda Accord or 1995/96 Nissan Maxima. Whats your feedback on this topic?

Both about the same. But finding an Accord or Maxima in good condition will outweigh any price differences inbetween the two. So spend a bit more on a good conditioned car vs the cheapest pos and then worry about the parts costs.

I don't think the two cars cost the same on the used market. For a 1998, Maxima is closer in price to the Civic. A 4 cyl accord is a good 700 more, a 6 cyl accord is a good 1400 more. That's what they call resale value--the 4 cyl Accord cost less than the Maxima when new. The 2005 Maxima currently has a $1000 rebate, so expect this situation to continue well beyond 2013.
