Am I the only one that feels this way about the 5th gen???
Blah
blah, this is so old.... Who cares?
I needed a 4 door car, and I got one with great looks and loads of power at the price I could afford....and I love it. Thats all I need to know.
A picture is worth a thousand posts....

Pretty funny that this is still being disucssed almost 2 years since the 6th gen hit the market.
I had an 03 Max for about 9 months. I traded it in for an identical 04 Max. Both are nice cars and i liked both. From my experience, they are very different cars. No regrets either way. There should be enough love to go around !

i can't believe that we are on the 5th page of this pointless and really meaningless thread...it is really pathetic why there are so many people dissing the 6th...but you know if you guys like expressing your feelings in negative ways...then go ahead, i can't stop you, it's just really lame...

then stop posting and let it die already. sheesh.
or can this get locked?
Sorry I felt the need to stoke the fire earlier... But guys, dont take it out on the owners, write to Nissan because they did it! You can keep the previous maximas forever then I guess, because you KNOW its never going to go back to where it came from. I thought the altima was incredibly smallish looking inside and out, and I could have cared less if it was slightly faster or handled a little better. This new maxima is aimed at a different market segment now, and for some, isnt the most agile 4 door competition killer out there. Just because the Accord is as quick as a maxima now dosent take anything away from the maxima. I dont think anyone has the time or concern to write up a chart showing the performance numbers of maximas vs. its class competition for the past 2 decades either. Id like to see it though, because off the top of my head I can name many cars in the $25-$35k range that wont perform as well the maxima does, theres alot more out there then the Accord. If you don't like the look of the G35 sedan, are trying to stay under 30k, need 4 doors, and want performance, the 6th gen is a better choice for performance minded people than anything I found on the market. I didnt even buy the car for performance only, I love the look, I suppose none of the naysayers would be caught dead in a Lexus GS sedan because of its proportions. I like big cars, this 6th gen has more room, performance, and presance than any previous maxima, its not a pocket rocket nor was it intended to be, but neither are previous generations. If the 6th gen is too much car for you, definately go for the Altima, its more conservative inside, and more agile I would imagine, but I admit this 6th gen is more suited to rollin' on dubs than any of the previous gen's, and I like that. I would have seriously considered a 300C if it were out at the time.
