Is your love for cars specific to the Maxima?
#42
no i love the old style muscle cars, mustangs, chevelles, camaros cars like that and i love the old trucks, my mom had an 85 max and my family loved it, when i bought my 95 it was because i needed a practical car, then i found out about how much i could do it and then fell in love with the 5gens and found one in a 5 speed and bought it. my project after this is going to be an old 50's styly ford pickup with a new 03 cobra drivetrain and it will be painted flat black, sleeper is what i'm after. so i like the old school cars, but love my max because it's the only family car that i can afford that it fun to drive and looks good

I have been interested in cars for as long as I can remember, german cars especially, but each car has good and bad.
Right now I drive a VW passat (slightly modded) it is a great car good gas mpg, However the amount I have spent to fix this car is ridiculous.

I do agree that the M3 and M5 are both very beautiful machines, unfortunately a bit out of my price bracket, I have to settle for loving cars I can afford. I do love cars, a lot. I enjoy my I30 because like it's brother the Maxima, it's a sleeper, it looks innocent and a bit luxurious but still has plenty of power, it's not over for me until I can get a Stagea Autech version into the states though... I'd love to see the look on some ricer's face when he gets the doors blown off him by a station wagon, only to find out that it shares most of it's internals with the GT-R... unfortunately, I'll probably never aquire one, but I don't really care for wagons anyway. I find it funny though that so many people equate 'rice' with Japanese cars, don't tell me you don't have a Cavalier or a Neon running around your town... maybe a Cirrus or Stratus, maybe even some Saturn, not to mention the number of riced small trucks... no my friends, there is plenty of domestic rice, or as I like to call the trucks around here, redneck rice. As for german cars... I miss my VW Corrado VR6

i agree i detest the low rider frontiers, rangers, and s10's.....a truck should have ground clearance that's what they are made for......and as for the cavaliers and neons and other small "sport" sedans that are made domestically i believe that they can never compete with the expertise of foreign dealers in this area

Neways, I like cars in general. Cars that go fast, look good or both. I was a mustang guy before my nissans. I started with a 87 sentra, then a 90 maxima, then 99 maxima. Since the arrival of the 2000 maxima i have not desired to own another maxima unless some major design changes are completed. I do have some interest in the infinity g35. SO right now that would be my next daily driver.
If I had a second car for fun or racing it would prolly be a mustang. I own and purchased a maxima because i needed a reliable car that gets out of its own way. It looks good and isnt a roach.
To answer the question: definitely not specific to the maxima.

I test drove a 03/04 m5 last summer and it was a extremely precise and perfectly engineered automobile but for $80,000 & 400 Hp it did not feel that aggressively powerful & exciting as i thought it would be, I drove used mustang svt/cobras that have scared the **** out of me ! My 3 dream cars are as follows - Daily driver Porsche 911 turbo, at night - Ferrari 360 Modena, and weekends 02/03 Dodge viper gts

BMW is what started my love with cars since before I can remember, which is why I can't wait to get our all-original 1985 Hellrot red 325e 5-speed that my grandma bought new in Germany and has 91k miles! It's a blast to drive!
Maxima's are unique vehicles in their own category, but I still kinda love SUVs. I really miss my used-to-be-perfect 1998 Toyota 4Runner that my GF totalled.

Not really, I do like Maximas although I dont think they are gods gift to the automotive industry as alot of people here think. There are other cars in this world. I love Mustangs, cant wait to get my hands on one.

I work for enterprise rent a car and its crazy how poor quality american cars are compared to imports. I'm talkin cars such as impalas, explorers, silverados, f-150's they just never feel as solid as the comparable imports and always have more issues (tranny for the most part).

YEP! Great car & value, we have a '90 (5-spd) and '95 (auto). I was surprised at how much power the '95 had being it was an automatic. I swear I must've made the salesman crap his pants when I stomped it!

a v6 motor doesn NOT belong in a mustang...IMO
Nissan's kick *** but so do many other cars. Although the max is one hell of a car. power, looks.
