Tranny or clutch problem...kind of complicated

So, I started up my car, tried to put it in gear, and no go...clutch was ULLY down. I shove it pretty hard and it goes in. I drive to get a slave cylinder, and install it. I bled the clutch properly and adjusted the pedal some. but it's still very hard to get into gear.

I think it pertains to something getting hotter and expanding....when the car is cool, it will run good for about 5 miles. then start not going into gear.

All fluid levels are correct. Double clutching doesnt work either.
This happend overnite, seriously...Im locked out of all gears, even reverse.
I bled the clutch lines more than twice, got a lot air out...and still no go.

Whats even more confusing is....if i adjust the clutch pedal...pushing it further down, then i try to roll and it works fine, but give it 5 miles and it will start being a **** again.

The TO bearing fork moves about 1" every time I press the clutch to the floor, so I dont think its that.
I dont think it's the tranny syncros either, because its every gear all at once.

Clutch, flywheel, and slave cylinder all have under 1000 miles on them.

Any help appreciated...

Try checking your shift linkage, I remember an org member here at trouble getting into gears because the rear bushing was dead.

do you have a short shifter?

I when I installed mine, I overtightened the bolts that hold it in place (the ones around the ball on the shifter) and it made shifting very tough. But dont leave them too loose because then they'll fall off and your shifter gets all wobbly - trust me.
but I dont think that'd happen overnight

just a thought

Doesnt sound like tranny , sounds like its your pressure plate or TO bearing.

Given that you replaced your slave cylinder, did you check the master cylinder?

I changed the TO bearing today... And it STILL will not go into gear. Now Im 99% sure it's the pressure plate that's f*cking up. The output shaft is spinning freely, (when I press the clutch in)

I can NOT crank it while in gear either.
So I gota find a PP, drop the tranny AGAIN.....take the *******ed clutch off, put a new PP on there, bolt it up, bolt up the tranny.....and pray to God it will work.

Master cylinder is fine, it's holding pressure.

When u had the tranny off, did you try putting it into gear by hand? Like the thing where the shifter rod connects on the tranny.

WTF? The shift rods have to be unbolted for the tranny to come off. How the hell would I put it in gear? Without the rods it's impossible. (I think...)

push or pull on the thing that comes out of the tranny (the fork that bolts to the rods)

without the rods i dont think it can be done either
how did everything look when you pulled the tranny (any wear on the pressure plate forks) also spin the input shaft and if you hear marbles or it is hard and dosnt spin smoothly it might be ur tranny

i feel ur pain though good luck

^^^ I did it on my tranny. It doesnt require much force. Jay25 did it to put in 4th gear when he did his LSD writeup.

I didnt know it COULD go into gear while it's off...but no I didnt. However....with the tranny up and bolted in...and the car OFF, it will go into gear.

My EXEDY stage 1 did the same thing after 5k. The TO bearing went bad and then my clutch fried leaving me on the side of the highway. I had to replace the clutch to solve my problem, good luck.
