Cali emissions testing with federal spec max?

So as some of you know I am moving to Cali this June. I have a federal spec 95 'gxe. Will I pass emissions there if I have a y-pipe and warm up the car before going (assuming no other problems)?

If not, what do I need to do to make my car emissions legal in the state of CA.

I've dabbled with selling the car but it's running perfectly and I've put so much TLC, not to mention blood into it, that I am hesistant to do so.

you help is appreciated!

you can pass cal. smog with a fed spec car, mines fed spec and i live in cali. you can pass the smog with the y-pipe (warming up your car before testing) but since cali is very **** with smog checks, if they see the y-pipe, they will fail you visually which is just as bad as failing the smog check in general. so, if you do smog, i would take the y-pipe off and put on stock, just in case.

hmm I guess that means I will be taking the the stock Y with me. Thanks for the tip!

Edit: I see you live in San Jose. That's primarily where I will be working! (O'Connor Hospital, Valley, and Stanford Medical)

Any good places to get the smog check down in the area?

i got my car smogged at a smog station next to my dads place, its nothing special but hes pretty lenient with smog checks. i dont know the name but hes located on N. 27th Street, its the first building on the left when you make a right on N. 27th and next to my dads place called One Stop Auto Body.

anyone else in the bay area with "good' smog check/safety inspection places? Also, what's the cost of registering your car in CA? Thanks!
