NEED HELP! Electronic Motor Mounts

Unfortunately I cant post anywhere else, (yes I read the announcement) and and I tried searching with that yahoo search in the sticky and came up with 0 results, so there isnt even an old thread I can reply to, so I have no choice but to make a new one.

Anyway, WHO'S BRIGHT IDEA WAS IT TO INVENT ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED MOTOR MOUNTS!

My mom just got a phone call back about her 2001 Inifityi I30 thats been making some wear noise after you shut the car off. I went and took a look at it yesterday for her but I couldnt for the life of me figure out where it was coming from.

She took to the dealer this morning and they just called her to tell her what it was, these stupid electronic motor mounts........which is going to cost $400.00 to replace!!!!!!!!! WTF!

So once I hung up with her, I called a few parts places I deal with, nobody has heard of them nor can they get them.

There is a TSB on them http://www.infinitihelp.com/Ownershi.../ITB01-005.htm

However it does not state whether or not this is a "free replacement" kinda deal or if infact she is gonna have to fork over yet another $400 to fix this piece of crap...........again. Seems like every 2 weeks there is a new problem or TSB out on this car, no wonder Nissan/Infiniti is so well, they probably make more money on parts than they do selling cars.

Anyway, is there someone who has gone through this before or can offer any advice on the subject?

Again, sorry for posting here, but I had nowhere else to go.

Thanks in advance,
Morgan

Ugh.....well I called my local Nissan dealership to get a price on the parts alone.

$208 for the front mount

$185 for the rear mount

Considering the Infiniti dealer quoted her $400 for parts and labor, its really not a bad "deal".

Either way, shes pretty much fed up with the car, it runs and drives nice, but its been nothing but problems pretty much for the last 45,000 miles.....think its from to trade the turd in.

For what its worth, you can delete this post or perhaps move it someplace where it might be useful for someone else looking for info on the subject.

Thanks again,
Morgan
