Ok who wants to help me liberate some parts.
I am looking to remove anything under the engine compartment that is not needed for WOT operation. This week all the HVAC, AC, and PS crap is getting the boot. That should be 100LBS+ in addition to freeing up a few ponies. I am looking to remove everything that I don't need under the hood. I just don't want to scrap something that I may need for normal operation. I have a 2 week 200lbs goal, which I think will be nooooo problem since that is pretty well what I mentioned before in addition to he front and rear bumper braces. Throw in the fact that next week I am putting it on the rack and stripping anything I can from the undercarriage, and I have started gutting the doors (pics soon)
So let’s hear it, any other creative weight reduction ideas? From my last outing I estimate the car to be at 2600lbs right now. That comes from using one of many calculators on the net and entering my Friday night results of 14.2 and a conservative HP rating of 180.

Ok, whoever it was that suggested to use an air chisle to remove sound deadening had a great idea. I remove it all in under 1 hour in 70+ degree weather. However the weight saving for this was somewhat over estimated. It was only good for 20lbs.

Its a bit of work but the big rubber washers that go around the motor mounts. There are 8 of them. Good for at least a pound.
