Ebay that crap and buy a lighter seat.
You think drag is going to be a hinderance with no hood & front end or is that going back on?

You ran without a hood? I didn't realize that. I would think that aerodynamics would play a role in your trap speed w/out the hood on...

I can still see some items that can be weight reduced... the black piece on top of the passenger side engine mount can go. Theres a bracket holding a rubber tube on the engine left of the intake manifold (if your facing the engine), Im surprised its still there. Also theres a few brackets on the AC and PS systems that I have removed but your gonna rip all the AC/PS stuff out anyways, so those are gonna go in time. You can also remove the horns and their wiring unless you need them for some reason.

Also I would of kept all the wheel well plastic shields in, I had my driver's side one get torn out and it made alot of turblence and noise in the wheel well area. My fender would move slightly at highway speeds with that wheel well shield gone. Thats gotta cause some drag especially at higher speeds.

Cmon guys he only has two hands I'm sure he knows what he can take off I hope

Right now my car looks a little like yours, I'm getting it ready for the 5spd swap My car now is prob at 2600 now huh Krismax but I'll put back my seats later but it feels so light I don't even realize that there's no PS. I want to have my car atleast 2700 flat or less with seats I'm almost there....

Your ran a 14.2 with the AC and PS stuff? Wow! Were they just there as weight or were they still connected? Forget high 13's This is gonna be low 13's with slicks and lighter rims. You getting a CF hood or just OEM? They are roughly the same price unless you get a used OEM.

Oh yeah, don't forget the cruise system.

My eventual goal is also 2700 race weight. I'm currently at 2840. CF hood, trunk torsion bars, and sunroof assembly should get me to mid 2700. After that I'm kinda out of ideas.

Plurco, how are you holding the windows in? Do you have the sunroof stuff out? If so, how are you holding the glass in?

The AC and PS is still hooked up. As for the windows, I ran a screw through the track right below the window. The glass is not resting ont he screws, instead the screws make the track clamp down on the windows. I hate to spout numbers, because people have great memories, but, I don't think 2100-2200lbs would be impossible, mate that with 180-200fwhp and high 12's would not be impossible. As for the hood. I can get an aftermarket metal hood for $80. I can cut the weight of that in half by cutting out the framework on the underside. That is also what I am doing to the trunk.

I don't get the point of this. It's a maxima, it's not supposed to be stripped like that.

I agree, this just seem like the wrong car to strip out and try to make a track car with.

but then again our cars arent really support to be turbo or supercharged.

Why? The VQ takes boost admirably well and is one of the best V6s in the world.

cut holes in your rear bumper, it helps reduce drag.

I know it takes boost well just when it was origially being designed they werent thinking, make sure the internals are strong enough to take atleast 8lbs of boost incase anyone turbo charges this family car one day.

But I agree and if I can manage to get up enough money and another daily driver I'd Boost this Car is a second.

No car is meant to modify. Do you think Honda made the NA B22 thinking that it would be an awesome engine one day if someone turboed it? I tell you what I think is a real tragedy. A Maxima with altezzas.

YOU BASTARD!! . . .

Hey I'm desperately looking for a 97 Trunk Lid if you can help me find one then my altezza will be off sooner as I already have my relpacement tails sitting in my room. Everytime I get close to a trunk lid its either gone or the price is waaay too high for me. Plus it was the fist Mod I bought in my younger days, I liked them and so I got them no regrets at all.

I still like, but I see just about every car on the road with pretty much these tails, especially AMERICAN CARS!! so my quest to be and look different is still on.

The paint is a good point. I think my four layers of paint is a large part of why I'm still in the 2800 range.

back on topic-japmax and plurco, i dont think that i could ever gut my car like that. i really like that you are trying to think of everything to get it as light as possible, but if you dont have weight in the front of the car, you will just have a lot of wheelspin.

you will always have weight in the front of the car. It is called the engine and transmission. There is pretty much no getting around that. I don't think wheel spin will be a problem for me as I am removing weight from everywhere on the car. If I was only removing weight from the front and not from the rear I might think different.

I don't know how much paint weighs, but I would be interested in seeing a flat black max with CF hood CF trunk and CF stillen front lip

instead of running that exhaust to the side why not just cut it as close to the y pipe as possible then use just a resonator there and nothing else. also im sure you got all of the under-carriage stuff like the heat shields and what not, if not, there's another idea
