Hey TireRack just did a roundup and seemed to *love* the new Bridgestone Blizzak MZ-01. Wondering what you guys think. I need a good winter tire for the i30 -- will be pulling off the Enkei/Nitto sets in about 2 months.

Their review is at: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/bz1_bz2_aa.htm

Thanks,

wheels

Plus, what about wheels for those tires? Just something inexpensive but not awful looking.

The old Blizzak ws-15's work great on my Maxima, so the new tech ones look to be even better. I went with Tire Racks winter package of four with steel Maxima rims and wheel covers. Maybe not the best looking setup but it goes like heck through the snow. Also have a similar pakage of four Blizzaks for my Fords Van and it goes great even with rear wheel drive. No complaints.

I had Blizzak WS15's on my old Probe. Very nice traction and that was a front wheel too. Forget speed and tire wear though - those things are soft and corner like a bicycle. Keep em on only as long as you need.

Steel rims is a better bet >>

It's not the most attractive thing...but in the snow, who cares anyway. The steel rims are stronger and add a little more weight. A good idea is too leave off the plastic covers that usually come with them. Water could end up in there, freeze up and throw your wheel of balance.
