well when i bought my rims the came with some kumho ecsta tires which have really thin sidewalls. my front 2 rims are scratched beyond belief around the edge of the tire.

from the looks of it, it looks to be repairable, might be a pricey fix, but doable.

Ive been wondering the same thing. I figure if you can sand down the rough edges and repaint it with some Nissan paint (paint code "KYO"). then they should look better? right?

try sanding them out, then repaint them with wheel paint. if that doesnt work you can fill them in, either DIY or get them fixed professionally. I would try DIY, and if it fails and still looks bad, go out and have them fixed.

I did the same thing to my wheel and had it fixed by a wheel repair shop. It cost me $60 to have it done and mine looked a lot worse than yours. It turned out better than I expected, looks as good as new....

That freakin' rocks! I think I may try this some boring Sunday instead of spending a few hundred bucks on a couple of new rims.

http://www.courtesyparts.com/paint/maxima.html they have it there for $4.99, or you could try calling Dave Burnette at South Point Nissan.

i might have to try that, i have one spot on one of my rims, and it bothers me cuz my rims are in perfect condition other than the one rim.

I've sanded down and painted 2 wheels that were way worse than any of those and they came out looking brand new. better than buying 2 new wheels

Who drilled those holes for you Ammi? I want to get some bmw BBS rims, but you have to drill them to fit the max right?

That was done with sandpaper, a sander, water, a couple of rags and metal polish. Those wheels come with both 4x114.3mm and 5x114.3mm from the factory. I did not get those lugnut holes drilled. BTW, those wheels(3-piece Racing Hart C5) are from the early '90s. They are pretty hard to come by these days. My friend got them for $75 because the seller thought that the wheels were done for. He was shocked and kind of mad when he saw what I did with them.

Yeah, Jae... but those prices!

I'll agree they do NICE work, but for THAT, you'd be better off just getting a new set of whatever rims you want.
