50% tint

Im going to get my windows tinted pretty soon, and i think im going to go with 50% because its the darkest legal in ohio, and because i want that classy dark window look, but so people can still see who's in the car. 50% is the darkest im going to go, so please dont try to tell me to get 35/20/5 tints.

My question is this: can somebody please post some pics/link me some pics of 50% tint? I have Sterling Mist with black leather, but any color car would be good. Im just trying to decide wheather i should get 50% or not get tint at all.

I just got 35% Lumar film put on my car this past Friday. Gave it a nice classy dark appearance, yet you can still see through it. Driving at night, you'd never know they were tinted from inside the car. It set the car off perfectly, just what I wanted, not to dark, just enough to set it off. I'll get a few pics up tomorrow as soon as I get new batteries for my camara.

sorry for the bad pic, but this is 50% on my prev car. I liked it a lot. I'm probably going to redo the tint on my max to soemthing similar.

Ok thanks for the pics, i get the idea of what 50% looks like.

I think its a little too light, maybe i'll go with 45% or something like that, i dont think cops will stop me for having 45% tint

50% tint - all around . i suggest you get your windshield tinted 50% too.

then 2 years later .... removing that 50% tint to make way for 20/35/50 hehe

I had 50% a long time ago , i was young and didnt want any tickets either so i went legal. It sucked in the day time, you can see clearly in the car, but at night it wasnt to bad.

O and i had 35 in the rear because CT doesnt have a limit on rear, go with that and it will also make it slightly darker inside the hole car.

How much does tinting windows cost, and where do you get it done?

EDIT: Also, where can I find an index of the legal tint limits?

tinting can cost between 125-225 bucks depending on the quality and the place. get it done at a local shop, just ask around.

type in "legal tint limit in (your state)" and it'll show you

Oh, geez minnesota has it at 50% all around...that sucks, anyway.

Does anybody here know about eye/medical problems that would allow a darker tint? I have an eye condition that makes lights appear very bright at night, I have a prescription already figured out for night driving glasses, (but I havent bought the actual glasses yet)...do you think this could get me darker windows by any chance?

yeah, you could definatly get any level tint you want if you have light related eye problems. Just go ask your doctor for a paper, and then carry it around with you just in case a cop stops you.

Hmm, that's good news, I hope she lets me do it! It'd be great to finally have a cop not be right.

haha
dont you mean 0%, since 100% tint would be no tint at all?
with 100$ tint, 100% of the light would be let in.

See how that works?

why get tints 50% and pay 225 dollars for it? might as well not get tints at all!

all the light in, and $225? my opinion is that it's not worth it. for that matters, go bare. and that sux that up there the legalness is 50%. are cops a pain in ohio? here in florida the legalness is 28% i think, i got 5%, never gotten stopped. my boyfriend got 2% all over, and 20% on the windshield, and had never gotten stopped for tints. and tints here go for 50-60 dollars, lifetime warranty.

kool, i love florida.

Personally, I don't get tint because I want dark windows. I want tint because I want the UV protection that comes with the film so that my interior doesn't sun-fade and crack, especially since I have a leather interior.

I live in AZ and I think my windows are 35% which is the legal limit I think. I hear it costs about $100 to do here.

Ohio law says 50% on the front sides, but the back sides and back window can be as dark as you want as long as you have a driver's and passenger side mirror. This law was updated in 2004, and you can find it in writing on the Ohio State Highway Patrol website.

I been looking into this lately, and will probably do 50% on the front sides, and 25% on the rear windows (on both my cars, eventually). I like tint, but I also don't want to have problems seeing at night.

Yah I think it only looks good when the difference isnt too noticable. 50 front and 25 rear is too much of change to look good, mainly because 50 is so light

Maybe gradual darkening?

50% front, 35% side rear, 20% rear.
