It was interesting. Does the 2001 Max have a different air box than the 2000? I thought the 2000 is the same as the 95-99, but the 2001 is big. I don't see how my K&N would fit in that box, no way. Also noticed the auto-dim mirror. Felt the free-play on the 0 miles 2001 SE 5-speed so now I know it's not my car, it's all Max's. GLE fuel economy dipped I think, it used to be higher than the 5-speed. Now it is under 20 city. Happened to see the IS Lexus, man, a dismal 23 mpg highway! Amazing!

Pathfinder wasn't impressive to me, decent interior but cheap prop rod to hold the hood up. Engine bay screamed refine me! also 3500.

Sentra was unimpressive except it's cheap price. Thousands less than the 18,000 Civic! Altima was the same old story.

Where Nissan scores is with the Exterra and the Frontier. Frontier has a nice thing-a-ma-bob when you want to leave the tailgate down. Good job Nissan, they're on the right track with those 2.

the air box in the 2001 is the same as in the 2000. the fifth gen does use the same air filter as the 4th gens.

Ermm, not all Civics are $18k. For the year 2001 the MSRP of Civics run from $12,760 to $16,910. The most expensive is the Civic EX Sedan at $16,910 with the Civic DX Sedan at $12,760.

For year 2000 model year, the least expensive is the Civic CX hatch back at $10,750 with the most expensive being the Civic Si at $17,545.
