Glut of GLE's

When I went car shopping for a 4th Gen Max, basically all I could find were GLE's for sale. Is that because owners with GXE's and SE's are holding onto their cars, or is it because they manufactured more GLE's than other models?

Not sure if it was in the stickys but I read somewhere the production #'s, personally I've seen more SE's than anything else.

It's probably just coincidence more than anything. Back when I was trying to find a 5spd max for me, I found mostly se's and out of the 10 or so that I did see two were SE 5spd's needless to say one of them is mine now

Maybe the stealerships put GLE emblems on GXE's to squeeze out a few pennies? I wouldnt doubt it since on the exterior they are the same other than wheels.

You know why? Because there's alot of old people live in your state. They tend to get the luxury edition to enjoy the comfort. You are lucky my friend.

i assume becuz the ppl with gle's have more money therefore they can trade them in faster, and the ppl with the gxe's dont have as much money so they have to keep them longer and the people with the se's went for more of a sporty car and when they felt the powere of the max they just fell in love, i guess i made a few stereotypes in there but thats just my .02

I keep getting "notices" from the dealer saying it is THE time to trade in my '00 GLE (with low miles) on a "new" Maxima.

Ever notice how when you say something, the reverse happens?

Now, the used Maxima ads contain ONLY GXE's!!

I think the 4th Gens on the road where I live are primarily GLEs. My 95SE is a 5-speed and the dealer told me that only about 10% or so are 5-speeds. I bought it brand new and didn't want the softer suspension.

I would think that GLE's are more predominate because the people that would shop for a GXE are more likely to buy and Altima for less money and the people that buy the SE's are more preformance oriented. Think of the crowd that the Maxima generally attracts. Familes and such. Not too many families are concerned with preformace.
