tranny flush

my car is now at 30k and i need to get the tranny flushed.
the guy at the shop said 40 bucks for regular drain and fill, and 100 bucks for the tranny flush with ATF. now, should i go cheap and just get the drain and fill? or shell out 100 bucks for the ATF flush? would there be any difference between these two? i dont want to get the expensive one if there isnt that much difference between these two. thanks.

it really depends on the condition of the tranny. if it has been maintained good then it should be completly flushed, if not just the reg cheap drain and fill. and there is much difference in the two.

At only 30K a drain and refill with ATF should be fine.

If you'd like to switch it over the synthetic fluid, being it still has low miles on it, then a complete flush would be best. Synthetic fluid does has it's benifits over regular tranny fluid. There is a lot of good information about this topic in the fluids & lubricants section of this board.
