It's amazing what money can do
It has been occurring to me that anything can be said with the right money involved. OK, so this isn't anything new, but I've just recently been noticing this in the automotive industry.
Today, while watching Truck Universe on Speet TV (not the best show, but something that has to do with automobiles), they showcased the Tornado fuel saver, and promoted it by repeating the manufacturer's claims (read: not actually tested info. in their shop), which allows unsuspecting viewers to view this segment as a trusted mechanic's viewpoint, and not for the unsubsidized commercial that it really is.
Another instance: while playing the game "Street Racing Syndicate," it became obvious to me that Venom was a sponser of the game's development. Yes, they did have a nitrous kit in the game, which would undoubtedly increase horsepower, but what they also featured was the VENOM 400 performance module, which has been shown to do almost (if not completely) nothing, and in the game's setting, added an immense amount of both horsepower and torque.
Am I the only one noticing this false bs in the industry, or am I offended to easily? And to be honest, I was offended by the Speed Channel's presentation of the product, and while I don't hang onto everything that is said on TV, I watch these shows with interest in seeing certain projects play out, such as brakes, exhaust, etc. I don't know, I guess that's all I have to say.

Advertising has permeated all areas of our life and it's only going to get worse my friend. With things like TIVO where people can just skip commercials, companies are getting more and more creative with their advertising.

Probably the only thing that this has to do with maximas is the fact that we have the 400 performance module available to us. So in other words, not much. Ahh well, it was a spur of the moment rant.
