PICS!! 300ZX Brakes Installed!!

Simply amazing. This brake upgrade is awesome. Recommend to anyone who is an aggressive driver. Entire cost with everything (including installation because I hate bleeding lines) was about $850, which I think is awesome for how quick my car stops now. Anyway on with the pics... (and some of the car..hehe)

Maybe you need to look up the definition of "nice"! Those brakes look like they were slapped together by a drunk crackhead. None of those parts were even meant to be used together, but everyone jumps on each others nuts every time one of these threads comes up, which is almost daily now.

one thing i did notice is that the contact area that the brake pads hit the rotor are not in good contact. so when you brake the pads dont hit all of the rotor and you could actually see that in the picture.

Well how can you fix that? Do you have to remount the calipers or something?

thats just how the kit is.

jeff92se says its perfectly normal as stock brakes/pads have around the same general untouched area

if you look at the stock setup, you could even tell that the contact patch is different. by looking at the pics, you could tell where the pads meet the rotor when the brakes are applied. when at least me look at my rotor and and where the pads meet up, it is wasy closer to the center of the rotor. i dont know where he got that idea from.

i never said I agreed with him. I brought it up once in a thread about the contact patch area and that was what he said to me.

Good to see everyone is getting this mod done!
and BTW, that area did bother me a lil bit so i just ended up going with the normal sized rotors. i dont like the idea of all that untouched area, maybe its just for looks? either way, even though i have stock sized rotors for 300zx, brake power is still awesome!

They look ok, but there is a lot of surface area on the rotors that isn't getting any contact by the pads. Also, is this just on the front wheels?

so you have the 300zx calipers and rotors? what was needed to make the 300zx rotors fit?
