I have done so many different dyno runs and so far the 00vi has made peak hp.

 

damn, lota VQs with less than 230 235whp r pullin some mid 13s, while many G35/350Z owners dont seem to be able to come close

 

That's because most of them cant drive, their cars are heavier, and most of the guys willing to do put the work into a max to have it either swapped to vq35 or a ton of bolt ons race alot.

Seriously though these guys aren't really pulling better 60 foots than us even though they are RWD. I always thought the performance of a z/G was somewhat dissappointed compared to the potential the VQ35 has. Extremely heavy 18-19-inch wheels, 3200-3400 pound curb weight... It should be more like 240's. Put a VQ35 in something a 240sx (2600 lbs) with lightweight 16-inchers and it'd be a blast to drive with 300 hp. It would run 12s stock.

Nissan could have a real monster on their hands, but EVERYTHING that has the VQ35 in it has heavy @ss wheels, a power-robbing transmission, heavy flywheel and a 3200+ lbs curb weight. That is why Vq35 in a 4th gen makes a lot of sense and performs so well (15-inch wheels and 2850 lbs, 5-speed with 18-pound flywheel). It would be even better in a 240 (a few hundred pounds lighter, RWD and better handling).

Most guys who have done the vq35 swap seem to have experience under their belt/know how to drive and are dedicated track guys. I'm the exception though, I only went to the track 3 times (twice with the 3.0, once with the 3.5).

 

but that is peak horsepower. how does the graph look like through the whole power band? and what about torque?

 

Its all better although i never used the VI cause there is no point with the tq of the 3.5.

 

so basically no proof on paper then? and what do you mean you actually never used the VI if you dont mind telling me? Didnt you say that you currently have it on the 3.5? It owuld make it soo much easier to understand and comapre if we had a dyno sheet between the two IM.

The 00vi curve is way better.

 

I could be right back in it with slicks, but I doubt I will since I just bought a house, and have other priorities at the moment. Maybe when it cools off this fall I will get back into racing. I haven't even driven the maxima in a few weeks.

 

I'm in the mix. I'll post my time slip later today. But i'm going to the track tomorrow Friday to hopefully better my time though. My PB is in my sig.

I am shooting for 13.2s and second place next weekend. Is 13.3 the fastest time for a max with a stock redline?

Not sure of names, but I know there's a Black 5.5g running a 13.6@103xx, bigdo? in a GLE w/a 14.1, A 4th gen or 2 14.1-2, and another 4th gen 13.9.. Like I said I can't state names but I do know they are out there.

The other guy had a 97 Pebble beige running a 14.9 auto, and a 6 speed running 13.6 @ 103 ... Cannot remembe his name, but he's posted in the lst few days.

I ran 14.51 @ 94.x in my beater a couple weeks ago. 2.16 60' time. Throwing my hat in the ring with that since my 13.43 @ 102.34 with 1.87 60' wasn't this year.

 

Sucks that I am only .1 faster than your 3.0 was... but the lack of timing and stock rev limiter/Sh*tty intake manifold aint helping.

Krismax was supposed to go to the track today.

I'm thinking he's not putting you up there because you probably aren't going to mod that car to make it faster unless you come into some serious money.

And if krismax can hit a 1.7 60' he will probably be dipping in the 12's. SR20DEN is going to have to make some changes.

 

Yeah I'll have a huge list if I started posting mid 14's. PAY TO PLAY.... For example I'm getting my tranny made to hold atleast 400hp no prob. For me this is just the begining NA > SPRAY> BOOST > BOOST & SPRAY> Blow it Up

 

I have to ask this to be fair to all of use in this competition otherwise i wouldnt care. Is jclaws track 1/4 or 400meter because if so that would put me ahead of him
