I've done it before...

If you're worried about it then use a 3rd part service like Escrow...u can check it out at www.escrow.com...

Or you can just buy my rims...

RIMS FOR SALE

I might be selling my rims in about a week if i get the 300ZX TT 5-spd i'm looking at. I'm going to return my car to stock and sell everything i can. My rims are like 1 MONTH OLD, the nubbies are still on the tires. I will sell them for 800 plus shipping, unless you want to drive and get them. I know it's a drive from Maine BUT it will be like 100 bucks for shipping. Nothing definete yet, just a thought. They are 16x7 Enkei RT-01 with 225/55/16 Pirelli P6000, VERY STICKY and QUIET!

I bought my used tires and rims off of Ebay. I learned that:
1. You should have the owner measure the tread depth of the tires, because everyone exaggerates how little wear they have.
2. Get some pre-arranged return agreement. One of the rims I got was very slightly bent; I didn't find out about it until I had it balanced.
3. Make sure that the rims are still in production. My rims aren't, so I can't replace the bent one. Plus, my 15-year-old daughter is learning to drive in my Maxima (the only a/t in the family) so when, not if, she hits a curb, I'm screwed.

I bought my wheels and tires off of ebay. Technically they were used since someone drove them for literally a couple of miles. But they were really new since they got taken off right away and replaced with new wheels and tires.

Anyways if you go through the ebay route, you can check the feedback of the seller. You should ask all the questions that you can think of. Make sure you know exactly what you're getting. Also as My 4DSC said, you can use an escrow service which serves as a level of protection for the buyer and seller. When I won the ebay auction, I got it delivered COD to make sure I was getting the wheels and tires. I didn't want to send my money and get nothing back in return.

Hope this helps. Good luck! Which rims are you looking to get?

I bought mine off of someone here on the org. I don't remember who though...I'm sure I could find out.

Anyways, I had him take pictures of them on his car, and took a look at them. Maybe I lucked out, but the guy was completely honest about the little damage that they had, and even took some close up pics of the damage for me.

I haven't had a problem with them, and am very glad that I bought them!

I will as soon as she gets a little more experience. My wife's car is a 5-speed, so the sooner my daughter can drive a standard, to sooner I can quit worrying about my Maxima!

I bought mine from someone on here

He scanned pics of all 4 wheels for me, and was very honest on the little trouble 1 of them has.

As for the money transfer, I sent 1/2 of it via paypal b/c I knew then that there was a verified address/bank or visa... and the other 1/2 was COD so I knew I was actually getting 4 rims/tires

Worked out great! I am very happy and totally satisfied.. just make sure you check everything out very well beforehand.
