Cattman Tests New Headers

Hehe, it's a 248c. He floored it too soon at ~ 55-60 and it obviously down shifted to 2nd, and then up into 3rd, and if you have an auto, you know that there's a little blip @ ~ 3800 rpm if you do no shift into O/D (4th). I believe it's the lock-up torque converter.
On my latest run, the one w/o the blip, I told him to start at 70mph instead of 50 to eliminate the abrupt downshift and it worked a lot better and did not show the blip.
The files show differently (no blip) when shown relative to speed or time. Check my cardomain.

D-love, I know Iw as being a smart as.s.
It's ***** waving syndrome
When the mevi was first introduced people were paying upwards of $600 for 5-8 peak gain. is that? .But its significance lied in the gain of 40 whp at redline ...

(VQ30DE) 4th Gen -
where is dave b when you need him ? i just hate to see people toss money away for nothing. a good ypipe is still the best option for price and performance (4th gen).
first generation cattman headers are a better mod to experience than a ypipe, but my best 1/4 mile is still with the ws ypipe. my advice to 4th gen guys with 3.0L is to keep your ypipe or first gen headers, there is no way these will make 10 hp over the better quality first gen 3.0 liter cattman header. My maxima has even crossed from the USA to Japan to NZ by ship and there is not a spot of rust on the headers, anywhere !

It won't be more worth it for the 3.5 than the 3.0, since the reason it gives big gains on the VQ35 is the removal of the precats vs removal of precats are done with ypipe on the 3.0. So there wont be a bigger gain for us 3.5-liter guys.

That is what he is saying, the Cattman ones are not the highest quality. Not one complaint about the XS Headers on the Altima forums....
BTW He bought Altima headers to see if they fit.

To everyone on the contact list for Cattman headers,
Last week we installed the first prototype set of our new header design (95-03 Maxima). Things went well for a first session – we did a nice strong baseline dyno on a 2002 Maxima with a set of New Zealand headers, got the new headers installed that day and did a follow-up dyno the next morning. At this stage of the process, its most important to know how they compare with the previous design, rather than compared with stock.

too bad they have like NO suspension products whatsoever. there isn't a single FSTB that works for both motors, they only have one option when it comes to shocks (and they're a ripoff). so i guess it's a tradeof.....but dang i want to be able to pay half the price for headers like the altima guys and still get the same results.
