Ever had to sleep in the Maxima?

Has anyone here ever had to sleep in your car? I (by reasons my own) had to last weekend, and couldn't find a comfortable position... and to skip the rant, the question at the bottom is: where have you found is the most comfortable position to sleep in your Maxima?

__________________________________________________ _____________

I first tried jusy laying the driver seat as flat as it would go, but I couldn't extend my legs the way I wanted to and the seat was slanted down, so I kept sliding down.

Second, I tried the back seat ... longer and flatter, right? Well, long enough if you're >5'2"ish ... anybody taller than that will have a dam*ed hard time fitting, and as I'm 6'1"ish .. that didn't work out either.

Third, I folded down the back seats (opening the cabin of the car to the trunk) and stuck my legs in there. It was flat, I could lie fully extended, and I was, for the most part, comfortable; but the floor of the trunk is hard, and so after about 15 minutes of lying like that, I got sore ... so I pretty much just lied there until morning when I could go where I needed to go (again, reasons I'll keep to myself)

So, where have you found is the most comfortable position to sleep in your Maxima?

i had to sleep in my max once, was spending the weekend at a friends crib, and didnt feel like getting pics taken of me while sleeping(immature lil freaks) and it was packed in there, so i slept in my car, couldnt find a comfortable position for the life of me, i just slept in the drivers seat for like 4 hours constantly waking up changing positions, and i had a neck cramp the next day, bah its hard, but im sure there is a way, i saw a pic of where someone had the front seats fully reclined back and was flush with the back seat, i wish i knew how to do that it would have been a little more comfy

ive napped for a couple hours in my max and i found the best way is too. remove the headrest and drop the seat all the way back to a comfortable position.

Move your two front seats all the way up, take off headrests, and recline the seats.

yeah I slept in my max once... It was really comfy, I just reclined the drivers seat all the way back and passed out. did not wake up once all night and nothing sore (other than my head for reasons that I cannot blame on the max).

I've slept in my max a couple times. Just laid on my side in the back seat with my knees bent. That beats laying in the drivers seat reclined back!

maybe if you open your open you rear seats, you can lay half in the trunk, half on those seats. with a couple blankets though

Haha ... well good to see we have some humor on this forum ... I thought it was all business for a while there.

Thanks for all the input, I'm sure I'll have to be doing this again soon and to be able to recline the front seats fully flat will be AWESOME (for more reasons than one) .. and as danNY said:
just remember....

ewilfong, I ended up doing this, but the hinge where the back seat and trunk join kept sticking in my ribs .. I'm guessing a blanket would make it hurt less, but I didn't have one.

As for what kind of thread it is... it's a thread for people that have lives involving their max, not revolving around their max.

i slept in mine once with the reclined seats/removed headrests but it was very uncomfortable on the leather and small 3rd gen interior....my truck is way better suited for this and other things with the back seats down

best way was to take head rests off then lower front seats so it creates almost a completely flat bed....

3rd gen is like a kingsize bed compared to a 4th or 5th gen, esp. with their ebrake handles.

I did it once, worked so much it wasnt' worth my time to drive home. had a blanket in the car, used a jacket for a pillow, was ok, better than trying to sleep in an office chair or on the floor. Worst part was waking up at 6am cold as ****.

I'm a person that usually can't sleep in cars but I could sleep in the Max. On the way to and from Maxus I laid the drivers seat back and went out for about 5 hours straight with no problems.

When I first got out of med school I could not afford an apt. in Manhattan so I just paid $600/mo. for a prime parking space and lived in my car, from 1998 to about 2002. It was fine, the only hard part was finding a bathroom and shower. With all that money I saved I was able to put a downpay in Philly in late 2002.

i'm a small guy 5'5" so the most comfy way to sleep in my max is just in the back seat.. but before i had my subs i slept in the trunk hahahaha.. i would fold the seats down, climb into that lil cave and sleep in the actual trunk.. and i don't mean having part of my body in the cabin, i mean really in the trunk...
but i have fell asleep a few nights in my trunk before just working on my sound system. i usually wake up with some limb still asleep or mysterious cuts and bruises.
