Great News!!!

Hey whats up everyone, well I got some good news, remember a while back, couple of months back, maybe even a year ago. I posted a thread asking for help, for the where abouts of my father. He owed $250,000.000 in unpaid/backed up child support.Well they got him, and siezed some of his property in El Paso, well anyhow from what we understood in the letter from the attorney general, is that my mother and I would be getting $200,000.00 from the property being sold or something like that, and the $50,000.00 be set on my dads bond. Anyhow, well I cant lie, I'm excited, but I dont want to get too excited, but I cant help it. Any how well I'm kinda of asking to get $25,000-$30,000 for a new car. I cant say I'll get that exact amount for a car, but I'm shooting for it, if anything at least $20,000. Anyhow I'm thinking about buying a used G35 and s/c it or maybe a new max. Anyhow I'm still keepin my max, and most likely I'm gonna do the whole Vq35 swap, and just really fix up that car as my daily driver. Anyhow just wanted to know what other options I have as far a another car. "in all honesty if I find a Legalized R33 GTR in the US, with the proper us specs and there asking around 20-30grand, I'm gonna get it!" Laters

You started 5 sentences in a row with, "Anyhow"...

Anyhow, I'd say hookup what you got, and have a pocket full of money. You have a long ways ahead of you, and you WILL have rainy days. Trust me.....

Hang on to the money and play your cards close to your chest. You shouldn't be talkling about this subject on the internet, let alone with your friends and acquaintances because what they don't know won't hurt them. Trust me on this one.

Put the money away safely. Your mom should get a trustworthy investment advisor and take it from there. This is her get out of jail free card and an open door to a better life. Help her out all the way and forget about the car for the time being.

You'd be crazy to buy a car with that money. Put it away for your future or pay to go school and get something under your belt.

Exactly I would fix my car up and buy some real estate. That's what I have been saving for.

goodluck tryin to find a skyline for 20-30gees lmao my boy dropped more to just import his r34...plus after he got it, they sent it to him with a ****ed up turbo and it blew his engine...but ****s all handled now(engine rebulit to handle over 1000 ponies...yes i know hard to believe but when you got the rite hook ups its very simple.) and if u were to ask him if its worth ...he'd tell u to keep the money cus its not worth the headaches and the wait for one is almost a year...plus parts for that ****in beast are crazy expensive...

as for the g35...id sell my max and use some of the money to get it.. so i wouldnt blow the rest and jus invest w.e u saved so u can flip it to buy ur s/c ...but why s/c it when u gotta buy some ugly *** hood just 4 ur s/c to fit under the hood...id rather turbo it...but thats jus me

***but the best thing u can do is just FLIP that ****...u dont need a car ASAP so jus play with the money and double then buy ur g35...or if u really flip it go head and order the skyline cus it is a great project car***

Yeah, don't let the newly found money affect your decision. If you were going to get a 30k car anyway, by all means, do it. Just be careful.

Investing is rough nowadays, at least I've found that in my case. Stocks are not good (yesterday was the worst in 2 mos). Home prices went down in May, not that much to be concerned about yet. Rate hike before July 4, and China buying our 9th largest oil co. unsolicited and also Maytag, both adding to tensions around the 162 bil. trade deficit.

Buy American! You can get the "employee" price now on Buicks. You don't have to be 50 anymore to do that....

Don't blow the money on a new car as it is a complete waste of money. Put the money away for college or a down payment on a new home. Invest it. Put the money to work. Don't waste it.

Save the money you get. If there are any repairs you need to do to your car, do that instead. Like the others have said, invest it, use it school, or just stick into your savings account.

Buying another car just because you are getting money in this fashion does not make any sense to me.

How is a deadbeat dad geeting screwed over????

He is an azzhole and deserves more than what he will get. My father was a deadbeat who never paid one red cent for my brother or me... and the day he died when his house burnt down I will remeber forever. the only thing that upsets me about that fire is I lost a half brother and sister (both under 5), they deserved much better and I never would have wished what happened on them, at least they were sleeping and never felt a thing.

As for my father, I hope that F**k suffered!! he beat the **** out of my mother and older brother, and he would have kicked my *** if my mother had not runaway when I was a week old. my whole family suffered for 18 years because of him, and I hope he felt at least 1/5th our pain that night.

this is BS. 20-30G's can go a long way. If you're not interested in stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc then it can be a downpayment on a real estate or perhaps to start out your own business. Don't be an idiot and spend the money on the car, especially if your Max does its job.

Be very careful in investing the money in real estate at this juncture. The real estate market is over extended and runs a very real risk of imploding. Your mom should seek out a financial advisor and invest the money wisely. Any money you get should be on a piece meal basis or go towards financing your education, not to p!ss away on cars.

Invest it and use it wisely. My friend got 80 grand from his grandmother passing and pretty much smoked and partied it away before even paying tax on it, now he is in the military trying to get the money to pay it back.

you are 20 years old and about to have 20 grand.

i got a check from my insurance company for 18 grand when my jetta was stolen. i was 21 at the time. i went looking for a car and made a couple of offers. none of them went through. i ended up buying a 92 se-r for $3k with my current savings at the time and put the 18 away. 2 years later my girlfriend got pregnant and so i had to make a move. if i didnt put that 18 grand away i would have never been able to put a down payment on my house.

it is very tempting to spend that money man, trust me. i tried to, but luckily the offers were not accepted. that money is a good base for investing for your future man. good luck

too add to the pool of comments.

If your Mom give you the amount you specified, I'd put about $3k in repair/maintanance/mods/tools. Pocket the rest for when every it maybe needed, cause there will be a day it will be needed.

Its the worst thing to say on a car enthusiasts web site but, cars arent everythign in life, dont blow it all on a car that could get totaled the next day.

Wow... If this isnt an interesting thread then i dont know what is.

I guess i could say congratations on the catch of your father and the money being paid to your family. Blowing 20-30k dollars is insane. A few thousand would sufficently due for your spending. Drop a 3.5 in your car and a s/c and your car would eat a g35 easy!

I wish i could get 20-30k. I know it would be easy as he|| but i think the money would be best used for investing and being used later in life. Drop a few into your car and some nice tools. Put a little into your bank for emergencys and then invest the rest. Starting a business or saving for college or maybe real estate would be a great investment.

There is lots of money that could be make off this 20-30k. I bet any financial advisor would recommend you to invest it and almost guarantee profit off this investment. This is starting to sound freaky because i sound like my dad or grandfather

I just dont want to see you blow $30k on a car which could possibly be doubled when you invest it.

Good luck!

Sean
