Transmission Question

I'm getting a tranny built with 5.5 gen internals, stage II.5 VB, and a cooler. Maximum Tuning out in LI is doing it. I'm reading that a lot of guys that have rebuilt their trannies AUTO specifically have experienced problems later on with rebuilds which is what I'm concerned about and which is what I'm questioning.

So guys that have rebuilt their trannies auto, or 5 speed have you experienced problems related to the tranny after a rebuild?

depends on the quality of work done and quality of parts. A good job done with good parts and you should experience any more problems for a while down the line.

From what I have read, Jeff at MTuning really knows his transmissions. If I were to hazard a guess, you're in safe hands. So you're getting a 5th gear? How are you going to take advanatage of it? Aftermarket TCU?

It's an automatic tranny, hence stage II.5 VB, so it's 4 gears, hey you haven't replied to my PM .

If you're building with 5.5g internals, that's got five gears.

Well then I have to speak to him, he said they're going to put in Graphite internals, change the planets, the solenoids, etc. Only thing that'll be left is the drive shaft and the physical gears. So I guess they leave the gears but change all the other stuff?
