I read a self-congratulatory post here the other day that mentioned that the folks posting over at a Honda site were morally bankrupt, severely lacking important qualities like courtesy, tolerance, and professionalism. Unlike the folks who post here...

Where did that come from? A newbie? I was threatened here with a "pimp-slap" from a self-proclaimed "boost-*****" a couple days ago! :-) And it did *not* come from a newbie.

I believe most posts here are honest and constructive, but nearly everyday I see folks take *hard* shots here from e-bullies dipped in machismo. It's just not necessary.

On the other hand, despite my usual attempts to post with diplomacy, sometimes I disagree too vigorously. Or I am misunderstood, and offend. Or I romp on somebody who I mistakenly thought deserved it! My point is, one has to have a thick skin sometimes to avoid escalating these exchanges to the point of ugly confrontation.

I enjoy this site. I have learned quite a bit here. I will continue to visit. Thanks for your time...

OK. Who's going to be the 1st one to tell me to F***-Off!?

Or people just need to stop taking themselves, and this site, so seriously.

Yes, I suppose real life can be reflected here.

In real life, people belong to clubs, fraternities, golf leagues, professional associations, maxima.org, etc. It's been my experience that these folks do so voluntarily, so they can exchange/share their ideas with other folks with a common interest. In this case, we drive Maximas. This is the glue that holds us together.

I can't speak for others, but the moment I logon here, I instantly feel a sense of comradeliness with the members, even though I may not know them from Adam. In fact, I have never met another maxima.org member to my knowledge. But that's part of the fun, too. What an opportunity it is to share ideas with folks all over the United States, and elsewhere, in what are very close to real-time exchanges.

I cherish my time here. I value the opinions expressed here. It's disappointing to see this opportunity squandered from time-to-time. Be that as it may, one way or the other, I'm sure I'll live to see another day. :-)

Take care.

Yeah I agree.....

with you no doubt!! all I feel is that sometimes on this forum people let others ideas affect them too much and they take it a little too personal, we just need to realize that sometimes its better to cool down and forget about the whole thing or just laugh it off! but none the less I definnetly understand what you mean......
