I purchased some Mothers Chrome Polish for my rims, is this stuff OK to use? Because some people have told me not to use polish on the rims. Thanks

What exactly is a 'terrycloth'?? What does it look like? I've heard that used many times, but I'm not sure what kind of cloth it is.

a cotton based towel or cloth, lint free......soft so it won't scratch or make swirl marks.........old t-shirts work well....

I think chrome polish is abrasive?

I thought any metal polish is abrasime like toothpaste. I would check the bottle. It makes metal shiny by taking off a thin layer. I would stick to the same wax/polish you use on your paint. Wheels have a sensitive finish similar clearcoat.

Re: I think chrome polish is abrasive?

Yes, all polish are abrasive, but very very fine abrasive. That fine abrasive is what's removing the tarnish. Mother's chrome polish is ok, but not aggrassive enough for me. I use Blue Magic which stinks like hell, but it's more aggrasive in removing tarnish.
