weird problem with clutch pedal

I had something weird happen with my clutch pedal today. I went in one of the automatic touchless car washes and pulled up to the area where you stop your car for the wash to start going. On the way in it did a water spray up under the sides of my car. I went forward and back on this a couple of times so that it could get up under my car good from back to front. When I stopped the car, I put it in neutral and pulled up the e-brake. When the wash was through, I went to push in my clutch pedal and it was maybe an inch off the floor. I pushed it in but couldn't get it in any gear. I ended up pushing the car out of the car wash and popping the hood.. no obvious problems. Looked up under the dash.. no obvious problems there either. I then pulled up the clutch pedal with my foot and it didn't do anything at first but then after letting it sit for a minute it started working well enough for it to go into gear. It felt kind of soft at first but then after driving a couple of blocks it feels normal again.

Any of you ever heard of a problem like this? Think it could have anything to do with the car wash? I haven't had any problems with the clutch since I have had the car. This is on a 2000 SE.

Appreciate any help!!

Check the slave cylinder for leakage. The clutch master cylinder probably has little to no fluild in it. The car wash had nothing to do with it, just a coincidance.

lol that happened to me today too, dunno if its a coincidence or wat. I changed my clutch yesterday and everything was normal. I bled the line both the lower and upper when I got home and so far no problems. However after this incident whenever I push in the pedal partially, the clutch not be engaged fully, my pedal vibrates (almost feels like the throw out bearing)? I know I installed everything correct plus it was working fine before this happened. Any ideas?

Have you tried bleeding your lines at all. Have you had someone pump the clutch while you watch the fork? Does it take a lot of movement on the clutch before the fork moves? Did the clutch slip out all prior to this? So this is my thoughts:

Bad master and/or slave cylinder.
Air in the lines.
Crack rubber line, or bad fitting.
Bleeder valves might be slightly open.
Bad pressure plate or clutch disc.

Sounds like a bad throwout bearing, or not installed properly (though I wonder is someone can truely install a throwout bearing wrong). I've know of people getting a bad throwout bearing with thier clutch kit. Did you happen to throw in an Exedy clutch?
